Mitra Khorsandi is a Persian singer experienced in various styles, folk, pop and classic music.
Her musical education took place in Iran, USA and India.
She has performed with leading Persian music groups on numerous cultural occasions.
Mitra khorsandi has been reforming folk Persian music and dance since she was 9 years old. In Iran, she routinely sang at regional Festivals and competitions on Iran Radio and received award Ramsar music Festival at the age of 14.
She has studied Radife Avaz , theory, history of Persian music and music theory with Maestro Tareef , who is recognized today as one of the finest interpreters of traditional Persian music.
She currently lives in NY, since 1986. She performed many concerts in NY, NJ. PA. Maryland, Canada.
Mitra Teaches Persian literature, Poetry, Sorood and folk dance to Persian school students in the NY, NJ since 1988.
For 2 years at ELLIS ISLAND MEDAL OF HONOR event with all the active Iranian-American at NECO, along with the artistic director Mitra Khorsandi played pivotal roles in the successful participation and representation of the Persian youth Folk dance.
