Our answer to BALLE

DALEA level digital playing field for locally owned business.

The Digital Alliance for Local Economies. ¡Dale! Go for it.

Where it comes from

Judy Wicks co-founded BALLE. DALE is our digital answer to it.

Judy Wicks proved that one restaurant, the White Dog Café, could be a force for good, then co-founded BALLE, the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, a network of locally owned businesses, so that local economies could hold their own against Wall Street.

DALE does the same for the digital market: an alliance of locally owned businesses that share the tools and what they learn, so a family-run shop can be found as easily as a national chain or franchise.

The commitments

Four promises of the alliance.

Locally owned only

No chains, no franchises, no national brands.

The same reach as the chains

Every member can get the digital presence work national brands pay agencies for, through Agent Spyder.

An open playbook

What works for one member is shared with all, free to use and free to teach.

Neighbours lift neighbours

On Pelican, one shop's customers find the next. A win on the street is a win for the street.

Where it begins

Carlsbad and Encinitas, with Pelican.

DALE begins with the locally owned businesses listed on Pelican in Carlsbad and Encinitas. Agent Spyder does the work across AI answers, maps, search, website, reviews, directories and marketplaces, social, booking and brand clarity, and a Chief Digital Officer the owner knows by name signs it off.
